Toddlers
15 months - 24 months
The toddler years are marked by rapid language growth, increasing independence, and strong emotional development. Children begin expressing their needs more clearly while learning to navigate social interactions and boundaries. At this stage, we focus on expanding vocabulary, encouraging positive peer interactions, supporting emotional regulation, and fostering independence through structured routines. Toddlers also strengthen gross and fine motor skills as they gain confidence in movement and self-help abilities.
Early Language Development
During this stage, toddlers experience a "language explosion." Children move from single words like "mama" and "ball" to short phrases like "more milk" and "my turn."
In our toddler rooms, we focus on expanding vocabulary through conversation and repetition, naming objects, emotions, and actions. We sing together and read books daily to enhance early language and encourage simple phrases and two-word sentences.

Social & Emotional Growth
Toddlers are beginning to learn that they are separate individuals, which is why we often see strong opinions and big emotions. They also start testing boundaries, so we keep routines

Independent Movement
Toddlers have daily outdoor play (weather permitting) and safe indoor climbing equipment to strengthen coordination, balance, and confidence.

Self-Help Skills
Teachers encourage our toddlers to feed themselves, wash their hands, help clean up, and follow simple one- to two-step directions.
