5 Year Olds
Our Pre-K students are confident, capable learners who are getting ready for the transition to kindergarten! At this age, children benefit from a structured routine that includes group learning, hands-on exploration, creative expression, and time to play and socialize. Our teachers plan engaging activities that build early literacy, math, science, and problem-solving skills while encouraging curiosity and creativity.
Children are guided in developing independence, responsibility, and cooperation through classroom jobs, small group work, and daily routines. We support their emotional growth by helping them express their feelings, work through challenges, and build strong friendships. Each day is designed to prepare them for school and beyond—through fun, meaningful experiences in a warm and encouraging environment.
How Do We Care For Your 5 Year Olds/Pre-K Kids?
Our top priority for Pre-K children is to provide a safe, encouraging environment where they can grow into confident, independent learners. At this age, children are preparing for kindergarten, so our teachers create a structured yet playful daily routine that includes small group learning, creative projects, outdoor play, and activities that build academic and social skills.
Pre-K students are guided through hands-on experiences that strengthen early literacy, math, science, and problem-solving abilities. Our teachers support their development with interactive storytelling, cooperative play, classroom jobs, and opportunities to express themselves through art, music, and movement. We focus on helping children build friendships, manage emotions, and take responsibility for themselves in age-appropriate ways. Each day is thoughtfully planned to support their physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth in a fun and inspiring environment.
Daily notes are sent home to parents to inform them about their child's day. For our 5's and Pre-K class, these notes include details about the main activity of the day, circle time activities, centers/subject-based activities, behavior, meals, and any important extra notes.
