 Frequently Asked Questions

What does a typical
day look like?

Each classroom follows a specific daily schedule. Our day consists of meals (breakfast, lunch, and snack), arts & crafts, skill-based activities, outdoor play (weather permitting), circle time, and a mix of fun theme-related games and activities.

How do you communicate with parents?

We use the Remind app to keep in contact with Parents about important information, events, concerns, etc. Teachers also send home a daily note that describes all the activities from that day.

What is your
illness policy?

A+ Day School follows the IDHS Sick Child Policy. In some circumstances, we need to send your child home immediately. Depending on the illness, your child also may not be able to return the following day, and have to wait until there is no sign of illness.

What should my child
bring each day?

Please send your child to us every day with a backpack, a reusable water bottle, and appropriate clothing for the weather. During hotter months, please apply sunscreen before arriving at school, as we enjoy being outside more often when the weather allows.

What are your
tuition rates?

Information about tuition can be discussed in-person or over the phone. Please view the "Contact Us" page to discuss further with a center director.

Do you provide transportation to/from school?

Rand Campus relies on the district bus for school pick-up and drop-off. The After-School Zone relies on a company-owned vehicle and the district bus.

Do you provide daily reports or updates?

Yes. Our teachers write out a note that is sent home on a daily basis, and it describes what has been done that day (activities, meals, etc.). We also send reminders for important upcoming dates.

My child has allergies.
What do I do?

If your child has allergies or restrictions, they should be disclosed immediately upon enrollment. Our menu offers vegetarian selections, and parents are welcome to provide food from home if necessary. Any allergy that requires on-site medication requires further steps. Please contact your center director to discuss this topic further.

Can parents visit
during the day?

Due to safety reasons, we do not allow parents to make visits throughout the day. It can also be distracting to other children during guided learning.

What do holiday breaks look like?

We do not follow the same "No School/Holiday Break" schedule as the school district. However, we do close on certain holidays. Please be sure to check with your center to know about any upcoming dates that we are closed.
